
A stolen 2009 Infiniti FX35 inadvertently guided Memphis Police Department officers to a South Memphis chop shop, leading to the arrest of three men on various charges. Action News 5 reports that upon arriving at the scene on Ely Street, police found not only the aforementioned vehicle but also a white Dodge Challenger with a false VIN number parked on the premises, in addition to a stolen Chevrolet Corvette.
The apprehension of the suspects, identified as Damien Boone, 20, DeJuan Boone, 19, and Delany Boone, 33, was the culmination of what began as a routine check for a stolen vehicle but which rapidly spiraled into a revelation of a considerably more sinister operation, as officers discovered weapons, ammunition and tools used for car thefts within the property framing a narrative of organized criminal activity, as stated in a release obtained by Local Memphis.
Regarding the charges, both Damien and DeJuan Boone face multiple counts ranging from theft of property in various monetary categories, operating a chop shop, vandalism, violation of vehicle registration to unlawful possession of a weapon, and alteration of engine serial numbers. Meanwhile, Delany Boone is facing charges of theft of property and vandalism, among others, according to details shared by FOX13 Memphis.
In the wake of these arrests, the Boone brothers, Damien and Dejuan, were each held on a $500,000 bond, while Delaney Boone's bond was set at $250,000, the bond amounts reflect the severity of the accusations they face as they await their court appearance, scheduled for Wednesday morning a court appearance that promises to unfold the next chapter in this criminal saga. Action News 5 crews were on the scene capturing visuals as vehicles were hauled away from the property, providing tangible evidence of the day's events.
