
The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking community support to track down a suspect linked to a recent shooting in Southeast Washington. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place last Friday when officers were called to the 3400 block of 13th Place, Southeast after a report of a vehicle being hit by gunfire was received.
At the scene, police found evidence of the shooting, yet the perpetrator and victims were elusive; a man, however, later presented himself at a local hospital with a gunshot wound, receiving treatment for injuries deemed non-life-threatening, and it has been ascertained by detectives that his injuries were sustained in the 13th Place Southeast shooting. The ongoing investigation has been given a boost as the suspect was caught on a surveillance camera, footage available for public viewing through the MPD's released link.
The authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to get in touch, yet they emphasize that individuals should not approach the suspect but rather contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a tip via text to the MPD's text tip line at 50411. To encourage public assistance, the Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000, this incentive stands for anyone providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this attack or any violent crime within the District of Columbia.
