
The authorities are actively investigating a shooting that led to a fatality in Southeast Washington, D.C. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, police were called to the 300 block of Parkland Place, Southeast, in the early hours of last Thursday following reports of gunshots.
Upon arrival at around 3:10 a.m., the officers discovered an unconscious man. The D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services found no signs of life in the 32-year-old Southeast resident, Alphonzo Glascoe, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Glascoe's death is ongoing. Authorities are soliciting the community's help to obtain any knowledge about the fatal incident. The department advises against public intervention and instead asks individuals to come forward with information that may be pertinent to the investigation.
MPD has announced a reward of up to $25,000 for tips that lead to an arrest and conviction in the homicide case. Those with information are urged to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Tips can also be texted anonymously to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
