Winds from the east will be blowing at a pace of around 8 to 14 mph, with occasional gusts possibly reaching 20 mph, according to an update from the National Weather Service.
As the week progresses, the weather in Miami should consistently stay warm, while the breeze picks up and begins to regularly and more forcefully gust. By tomorrow, the probability of precipitation increases to 80%, with heavy rains and the potential for thunderstorms also on the horizon, carrying a breeze that may reach up to 24 mph gusts. NBC Miami warns of "localized ponding/flooding" which is likely to occur as a result of the incoming tropical moisture. In addition to the impact on land, the windy weather is set to pose a number of marine hazards, including "High rip current dangers are expected into the weekend," as mentioned in an update from NBC Miami.
Thursday brings another likelihood of showers and storms, with the force of the wind picking up markedly. The south wind is expected to blow at about 25 to 30 mph, with gusts that could surpass the 40 mph mark. The chance of precipitation holds steady at 80%. Residents should remain vigilant, as this combination of wind and water can to quickly lead to hazardous conditions on both roads and at sea.
Entering the weekend, the stormy pattern seems to stubbornly persist. Wind speeds are slated to settle slightly but will continue to be breezy, sustaining speeds of 15 to 20 mph. Showers, and the possibility of thunderstorms, continue to loom with a 70% chance of precipitation on Friday.
