The incident, which occurred on northbound I-75 near Dix, resulted in the injury of a Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Officer and another unidentified individual. WXYZ documented that the MSP vehicle was struck by another car, leading to a catastrophic scene with the patrol car getting pinned beneath a semi-truck.
Following the collision, the northbound section of the I-75 was promptly closed at Allen Road, leading to significant traffic congestion as authorities responded to the urgent situation, authorities have been making concerted efforts to manage the traffic while investigating the crash, but despite this, congestion ensued with both northbound and southbound traffic becoming significantly backed up around the site of the accident, as per WWJ Newsradio 950.
