The Minnetonka Police Department is on the lookout for fresh faces to join their Police Explorers program, eyeing youths with a keen interest in law and order.
Specifically targeting young adults aged between 14 and 21, the Explorers serve not just as apprentices to seasoned officers, they are a bridge to the community and frontline witnesses to the day-to-day realities of maintaining public peace, as detailed by the City of Minnetonka.
Set to run through the 2024-25 period, recruits will play a supportive role in emergencies, contribute to local events, and display their skills in high-stakes competitions across regional and national law enforcement forums.
Prospective members and their guardians are invited to an introductory session on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 5:30 p.m., where they can glean insights into the program at the Minnetonka Community Center, as mentioned on the city's official website.
