A fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle occurred on the Northeast side of El Paso, resulting in the closure of Woodrow Bean westbound before the Dyer intersection, police said. According to KFOX-TV, the El Paso Police Department responded to the scene at the intersection of Bomarc and Woodrow Bean, which is on the path to the Transmountain overpass.
The incident was reported on Saturday evening at approximately 7:28 PM. While the identity of the deceased has not been released, the Special Traffic Investigations Unit (STI) was brought in to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash. STI is known to take over, when fatalities or serious injuries are involved, as per KTSM.
Following the accident, all lanes at Transmountain West before the Dyer intersection were closed off to traffic as the STI and other emergency personnel attended to the scene. The crash was reported just before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Bomarc and Woodrow Bean, as noted by KVIA.
At this time, the El Paso Police Department has not provided any additional details regarding the cause of the collision or the parties involved, the investigation is ongoing. The area affected by the crash was closed for several hours as investigators worked on the scene, causing traffic delays in the surrounding areas.
