After a week-long trial, a Multnomah County jury has delivered a guilty verdict against Devin Rose, 32, for the shooting death of Justin Graver last October. As reported by the Multnomah County District Attorney's office, Rose was found guilty of second-degree murder with a firearm on September 19, 2024.
Deputy District Attorney Brian Davidson served as the representative for the state during the proceedings which concluded with a mandatory life sentence facing Rose, pending parole after 25 years. In a trial to the court, Judge Christopher Ramras also found Rose guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Sentencing has been set for October 18, brought forward by the efforts of the East County Major Crimes Team and the Gresham Police Department as the lead agency.
Throughout the trial that began on September 11, a dozen jurors were tasked with determining the fate of Rose, who was indicted for the crime that shook the community in Gresham. Their deliberations resulted in the conviction, shedding light upon not just a single incident but an ongoing struggle with gun violence and crime in the region.
While in custody at Multnomah County, the verdict brought closure to the case, which charged Rose also with having a firearm illegally, knowing well he was a convicted felon. The district attorney's office extended gratitude to all law enforcement officials and the major crimes team involved whose dedication ensured justice was diligently pursued and secured.
