Early Sunday morning, a heated confrontation at a house party on Fields Drive resulted in a tragic gunfight that left two men dead—one of which was the apparent instigator of the violence. The Nashville Police Department, as reported by the official Nashville government website, confirmed the fatal shootings occurred around 4 a.m. and identified 41-year-old Steven Gutierrez as one of the victims. Gutierrez was fatally shot multiple times after a physical altercation with a 19-year-old male at the party hosted at his residence.
According to eyewitness accounts, Gutierrez initially shoved the teenager, which led the younger man, whose identity hasn't been revealed pending notification of kin, to draw a weapon from his waistband and open fire. Having been seriously injured during the encounter, Gutierrez was urgently taken to Skyline Medical Center where he later died. Unfortunately, fleeing the scene with his friends, the 19-year-old was separately dropped off with a single gunshot wound at Summit Medical Center and died shortly after arriving.
