
The New Orleans Police Department is requesting help from the public to locate Marquis Thompson, a suspect of aggravated assault and firearm theft. According to a NOPD News release, Thompson, identified as a Black male born on September 18, 2001, is accused of forcefully taking a victim's firearm from her purse, brandishing it at her menacingly, and fleeing with the weapon.
The incident occurred on Saturday in the 1700 block of Pace Boulevard. The police detail that after committing the acts of theft and assault, Thompson promptly left the scene with the stolen firearm. Authorities are now widening their search efforts and have turned to the community for assistance. A photo of Thompson has been provided to aid in his identification and capture.
