North Adams Police Department is on the lookout for an individual accused of trying to install a card skimmer on an ATM within the area last Thursday. The suspect was reported to have attempted the act at a local business ATM around 2:03 p.m., before being intercepted by an employee, according to a Facebook post.

Described as a 5' 5" tall male of Middle Eastern descent with a heavy accent, the man sported a thin mustache and was dressed in light blue jeans, a blue and white polo with a red patch on the bicep, surveillance images were unable to lead to an immediate apprehension and an extensive area search did not yield a match for the suspect's description, who is thought to have possibly been picked up by a vehicle, evading the pursuing authorities prior to their arrival.

North Adams Police are now turning to the public for assistance, asking anyone with information about the man, who was also wearing light sneakers, a brimmed Tommy Hilfiger bucket hat, and a right-wrist watch, to come forward. Anyone who can identify the individual or has relevant information is encouraged to contact the North Adams Police Department at 413-664-4944 ext. 1.
