The Oakland Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a person of interest connected to a homicide that took place earlier this summer. On June 23, a shooting on the 900 block of 44th Street led to two individuals being hospitalized, with one victim ultimately succumbing to their injuries, as detailed by the Oakland Police Department.
Released to the public were images of an individual and a navy-blue Mercedes-Benz SUV believed to be related to the incident. This call for public aid comes after officers discovered signs of the shooting, yet no victims were initially at the scene. Subsequently, two gunshot victims self-transported to a local hospital, where one was later pronounced dead and the other remained in stable condition. The identity of the deceased is withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators from the Oakland Police Department's Homicide Section have been actively working on the case. They now request that anyone with information or who recognizes the individual or vehicle in question contact them at (510) 238-3821. The OPD has also set up a TIP LINE at (510) 238-7950 for anonymous information related to the investigation.
