The Oakland Police Department is seeking assistance from residents in identifying a vehicle linked to armed robberies. OPD released a photo of a dark gray Dodge Charger, a newer model, associated with two armed robberies that shook local businesses last week, according to the Oakland Police Department.

The first incident, which occurred around 10:00 a.m. last Wednesday, involved a Snap-on delivery driver who was accosted by an armed suspect while unloading property near East 12th Street and 51st Avenue. Two other suspects helped themselves to items from the van. A similar robbery happened the day before, just before 10:45 a.m. on MacArthur Boulevard, where the suspects were believed to have commandeered the same menacing Dodge Charger.

The details of the suspect vehicle are specific, and the Charger is described as a 4-door, possibly a wide body, with distinctive features such as a spoiler and black aftermarket rims, an image of which the OPD has shared with the public. Snap-on has responded to these brazen daylight thefts by offering a hefty reward of upwards of $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in these crimes.

The police urge anyone with details about the robberies or the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle to step forward. The OPD Robbery Section is fielding tips at (510) 238-3326, and they have cast a wide net, asking for any potential video or photographic evidence to be sent to [email protected].
