In an announcement made on the city's official website, two overnight closures are scheduled for the set up of beams for the new Rush Creek Blvd/TH 610 extension bridge.
On Tuesday, September 10, eastbound I-94 will be fully closed between TH 610 and Maple Grove Parkway from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., while the westbound lane traffic will be constricted to a single lane during these hours but will remain open. Then, on Thursday, September 12, it's the westbound side's turn to shutter from Maple Grove Parkway to TH 610, with the same closure times in place. Eastbound lanes, during this time, will echo the same pattern—a reduction to one lane, but persisting open.
The City of Maple Grove's official website has diligently provided detour routes for travelers to navigate the interruptions. Eastbound I-94 traffic can use eastbound TH 610 to southbound TH 169 to get back on I-94 west. Conversely, for the September 12 westbound I-94 closure, the suggested detour takes drivers on eastbound I-94 to northbound TH 169 to TH 610.
For those with local destinations or highways to traverse, these closures may add more than just a wrinkle to your evening travel plans.
