Oviedo's landscape is set to change as Duke Energy gears up for a significant tree pruning project along the city's electrical lines. As announced by the City of Oviedo's recent social media post, the utility company will focus its efforts east of Alafaya Trail along East Chapman Road and north of Beasley Road. These operations, crucial for maintaining power line safety and service reliability, are anticipated to extend through the final months 2024.

The project underscores the ongoing tension between urban development and the natural environment. While necessary to prevent power outages and ensure public safety, residents and commuters are advised to be cautious when driving through these areas due to the increased activity.
Residents of Oviedo and those passing through the area may notice changes in the trees and might face occasional delays or detours.
