The driver of the Infiniti claimed to have the green light at the time of the accident, and stated "the man was in her lane of travel and she could not avoid hitting him." Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the man was pronounced dead after being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Investigators are currently working to identify the deceased through fingerprint analysis conducted by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Meanwhile, the driver of the Infiniti, who has not been named, reportedly showed no signs of impairment at the crash scene.
