A tragic incident on the busy streets of Nashville has left a pedestrian dead following a collision late Tuesday night. According to the Nashville Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on West End Avenue at the intersection of 17th Avenue.
The victim, a male pedestrian whose identity is yet to be determined, was struck by an Infiniti Q50 as he was in the vehicle's path. The driver of the Infiniti claimed to have the green light at the time of the accident, and stated "the man was in her lane of travel and she could not avoid hitting him." Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the man was pronounced dead after being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Investigators are currently working to identify the deceased through fingerprint analysis conducted by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Meanwhile, the driver of the Infiniti, who has not been named, reportedly showed no signs of impairment at the crash scene.
