The Pembroke Park Police Department has brought enforcement action against a local smoke shop. An investigation revealed that 24K Miami was selling THC-infused products with levels beyond what state law allows. The items, including gummies and mushrooms, contained more than the permitted 0.3% THC, according to details released by the police department.
Local 10 reports that following community complaints about potential illegal activities at 24K Miami, located at 4250 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd., investigators began looking into the operation. The shop is accused of importing products from California that do not meet Florida's regulatory standards for THC content. The owner has not been publicly identified, but authorities have issued a Notice to Appear in Court for a second-degree misdemeanor related to selling food without a proper permit.
The enforcement action included seizing all products that were deemed unsafe, and the owner has agreed to destroy any remaining items. In a statement obtained by WSVN, it was mentioned that the shop has been closed and the owner now faces the task of attaining a state license within three weeks if they wish to continue selling THC products legally.
Additional aspects of the case, including potential implications for local cannabis regulation enforcement, are still under review. Those seeking more information or wishing to report similar concerns can contact PPPD Deputy Chief Jason Ochoa at [email protected] or 954-952-4664.
