Yesterday afternoon, a two-alarm fire broke out in a Pittsburg home, sending plumes of smoke into the sky and resulting in the transport of three individuals to the hospital. According to a Facebook post by the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, the fire was reported around 1:50 p.m. on Warren Way. Firefighters arriving on the scene observed active flames emerging from the backside of the residence, which quickly spread to neighboring structures.
Efforts to contain the blaze were underway as Truck 84 reported the situation from two miles away. Responders called for a second alarm, and the fire was reportedly under control by 2:15 p.m. Among the chaos, one person was treated at the scene and later released, while the others were taken to the hospital for further medical attention.
The county fire department released a statement indicating that several residents were displaced due to the incident. The local Red Cross chapter has been engaged to assist those affected by the fire.
