Authorities swiftly responded to a distressing incident last night when a woman was reportedly assaulted in an act of theft. According to the Pittsburgh Public Safety blotter, the event unfolded just moments before 11 p.m., on the 500 block of Market Street, where the victim's evening took a harrowing turn. She reported being followed by a group of juveniles before the assault, triggering a police operation in the heart of downtown.
A patrol unit, quick to arrive on the scene, communicated with the victim, who narrated her ordeal of being tracked and subsequently attacked. In a determined effort to swiftly bring justice to bear, officers located and detained one juvenile female suspect at the corner of Liberty Avenue and 5th Avenue. It was here that the victim made a firm identification of the suspect.
The search did not conclude with the first apprehension. Officers stopped A second juvenile female at the same intersection shortly after that. Despite ongoing efforts, the victim's purse still hasn't been found, leaving a sense of uncertainty about the incident. The young woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and is now in stable condition.
