Lily Castro, the Project Manager from CivicPlus, acknowledged the proliferation of mobile app usage in current times, emphasizing that "in just one touch, your citizen can view calendar events, news items, agendas, etc.," according to the official Plaquemines Parish website. The "PPG Geaux" app is outfitted with several key features, designed to simplify common procedures such as paying fees, reporting concerns, and accessing agendas. Users can also keep tabs on local events, meetings, and have quick links to essential contacts. An intuitive homepage serves as an informational hub to communicate important messages from the Parish to its residents.
Communications Director for Plaquemines Parish Government, Shannta Carter, expressed confidence that the new app will foster better communication and quick information dissemination. Carter told Plaquemines Parish, "As the app’s usage becomes more prevalent, we’ll be able to see which tabs constituents use the most and more easily add additional information as needed based on their engagement with the app."
