Atlanta police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred outside a Burger King restaurant in southwest Atlanta. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, officers responded to the scene at 26 Peyton Road SW around 7:53 p.m. on Saturday, where they found an adult female with gunshot injuries.
Early reports suggest that the victim was involved in a dispute with another female who was allegedly known to her. The altercation escalated quickly, leading to the victim being shot. Although details remain sparse, authorities are actively seeking the unidentified suspect. No arrests, they have yet made at this time.
The injured woman was promptly taken by Grady EMS to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Her condition has not been publicly disclosed, and police have not released the names of either the victim or the suspect involved.
Adding to the account, Atlanta News First reported that the incident appeared to stem from a personal dispute. "The woman was allegedly shot by someone whom she appears to be familiar with," the outlet stated, indicating a potential relationship between the victim and her assailant.
