A Port St. Lucie community is dealing with the sudden death of 67-year-old Francis Devon Gennace, who was found at his home near SE Albatross Ave. with "obvious signs of violent trauma to his body," according to the Port St. Lucie Police Department. CBS12 reported that police quickly established a crime scene and began a detailed investigation into the case.
According to WPTV, the Port St. Lucie Police conducted a welfare check on Francis Devon Gennace after he missed work for several days, which concerned his coworkers. Police Chief Richard Del Toro stated that while details about the manner of death are not being disclosed, it does not appear to be self-inflicted. The PSLPD Major Crimes Unit has yet to reveal any suspect information. Del Toro told reporters that Gennace did not live by himself and that officers and detectives have gone door-to-door in the dense residential neighborhood to collect further information.
As the police investigate Gennace's death, they are asking for public assistance. "Anytime we have a situation like this, it's all hands on deck," said Del Toro to CBS12.
