
A 26-year-old quarry worker sustained injuries following a 30-foot fall at a DeKalb County site along Scales Road. The accident occurred on Friday afternoon, according to emergency services that attended the scene.
According to a report from 11 Alive, DeKalb County Fire reported receiving a call at approximately 2:43 p.m. and promptly dispatched crews to rescue the man from the embankment. Despite his fall, the worker was described as conscious and breathing. However, he had also suffered obvious injuries to his extremities, including harm to his legs and arms. Efforts were made to quickly and safely extract the injured worker from the quarry.
Details about the incident remain limited as investigations continue to determine how the accident occurred. The identity of the 26-year-old involved has not been released.
Following the incident, the worker was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. His current medical status remained undisclosed. "He was reported to be conscious and breathing when first responders reached him," FOX 5 Atlanta indicated.
