Early yesterday morning, a shooting in Sacramento's Oak Park neighborhood resulted in one death and left another man hospitalized. The incident occurred on the 4000 block of 4th Avenue, where officers from the Sacramento Police Department arrived at the scene shortly after 2:30 a.m. following multiple reports of gunfire.
At the location, police discovered two men with gunshot wounds. They were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, as stated in a report by KCRA. Though both men received prompt medical attention, one succumbed to a life-threatening injury while the other is expected to survive, police said.
The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has taken on the responsibility to identify the deceased after his family has been notified. As the homicide detectives spearhead this ongoing investigation, no suspect information is currently available to the public.
