On this day, observances were held at St. Augustine High School, where those gathered paid their respects to those lost. Jill Donahue, who lost her grandmother when the Boeing 727 plunged into her North Park home, as per 10News, "You just can’t shake it," said Donahue. "Especially like when September comes around. It’s not like you’re living in that moment all the time, but it’s like right here on the periphery of your mind."
Councilmember Stephen Whitburn made good on his promise to establish a lasting memorial at the crash site. "46 years ago, our community was forever changed by the tragic crash of PSA Flight 182," Whitburn posted on Facebook. "Today, I’m proud to share that this promise has been fulfilled."
