A violent altercation in Pacifica on Sunday has left one man with serious facial injuries and another facing felony charges. Pacifica Police were called to the scene near Winter’s Tavern on Francisco Boulevard after a patrol officer found the injured party at around 9:20 pm.
The victim was reportedly down in the street when they were discovered, prompting a swift response from additional officers and paramedics who rendered aid before transporting the individual to the hospital. The injuries, while severe, have been deemed non-life-threatening. Peter Rocha, a 41-year-old resident of San Jose, was quickly detained near the scene. Police believe the two men knew each other and may have even arrived together at Winter's Tavern before an argument broke out into violence seemingly. Rocha has been arrested and booked on charges of public intoxication and felony battery causing injuries.
