In San José, a pedestrian collision claimed another victim, marking this year's 38th traffic fatality in the bustling Silicon Valley City. The San José Police Department reported that yesterday, around 8:06 PM, a vehicle-pedestrian incident occurred on Stevens Creek Boulevard near Hanson Avenue.
The involved parties were an eastbound 2018 black Honda Civic sedan driven by an adult female and an adult female pedestrian traversing the road outside a marked crosswalk. Despite quick transportation to a local hospital, the pedestrian did not survive. The SJPD confirmed that the pedestrian's death was the 14th involving a pedestrian in 2024.
The driver reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
