The San José Police Department has arrested 33-year-old Guillermo Gonzalez, a known gang member, on charges of a gang-motivated assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing a firearm. The incident, which took place on August 10 in the 3000 block of Senter Road, was reported to the authorities at around 8:30 PM.
According to the San José Police Department, Gonzalez approached the victim in a parking lot, questioned his gang affiliation, and threatened his life. He then fired his weapon into the air before fleeing. The initial response from the SJPD Patrol Officers led to the identification of Gonzalez as the assailant.
Further investigations by the San José Police Gang Investigations Unit and collaboration with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office resulted in an arrest warrant issued for Gonzalez. A search warrant for his residence was also obtained to support the case. On September 5, the SJPD Covert Response Unit took Gonzalez into custody in San José.
