
Two individuals have been taken into custody by the San José Police Department on charges of human trafficking. According to a report released by SJPD, Xiaohong Yang, 55, of Mountain House, CA, and Mei-Chen Juan, 53, of San José, CA, were arrested following a month-long investigation spurred by multiple community tips.
The investigation, led by the San José Police Department Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF), involved several specialized units of SJPD. On September 11, they executed a search warrant at a suspected residential brothel on the 2700 block of McKee Road in San José. In the course of the operation, two adult female victims, who are now referred to as human trafficking survivors, were discovered and provided with resources.
Both suspects were apprehended in San José and subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges related to the operation of the illicit establishment. The collaborative effort included the SJPD Downtown Services Unit, METRO, Street Crimes Unit, 290 Team, and SJPD Patrol Officers. San José Police Department reiterated their dedication to eradicating human trafficking in San José, appealing to the public to report related information to the Human Trafficking Task Force.
