Tragedy struck North Las Vegas on Monday night when a woman was killed in a hit-and-run incident, prompting authorities to search for the responsible driver. According to FOX5, the first accident occurred around 9:13 p.m. at the intersection of Civic Center Drive and Webb Avenue, where officers found an unresponsive female pedestrian with serious injuries; she later died at the scene, and a white box-style work truck, believed to be driven by a Hispanic man, was reported fleeing north after mounting the sidewalk and striking the woman.
Minutes after the initial crash, a second hit-and-run involving the same vehicle was reported on Tonopah Avenue and Arthur Street. The North Las Vegas Police Department revealed the series of events in subsequent statements, with no injuries reported in the latter incident, although investigators are considering impairment as a contributing factor for the driver's recklessness, as stated on the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The Clark County coroner’s office will release the identity of the deceased, accompanying the cause and manner of death, in due time. The North Las Vegas Police are urging the public to come forward with any information about the crash or the vehicle involved, based on details shared by 8 News Now.
