Tragedy struck the northwest side of San Antonio yesterday evening when a man was fatally hit by a pickup truck while crossing an intersection. The San Antonio Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 10 p.m. near Culebra Street and North General McMullen.
The man, who has yet to be identified, was attempting to cross the road when he was struck, authorities say. Police are currently searching for the driver, who did not stop to render aid — fleeing instead. Responding to the scene, officials found the victim lifeless on the ground, where he was pronounced dead, as KENS 5 reported.
Witnesses provided conflicting descriptions of the vehicle involved. One stated the truck was dark-colored, while another claimed it was white. As the San Antonio Police Department continues its investigation, they urge anyone with information to come forward. The incident prompted a heavy presence of first responders, including the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS, that were also dispatched to the location, according to a KSAT report.
The identity of the victim, as well as the driver, remains unknown at this time, as the investigation continues, the search for the suspect intensifies, with the hope that justice will soon be served.
