
A 58-year-old woman was the victim of a robbery and assault in her own neighborhood, Walnut Park East. The incident happened on Sunday evening at approximately 8:30 p.m. when the woman was confronted by two attackers outside her home in the 5500 block of W. Florissant, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The victim told the police that a man and woman approached her and asked for money. When she said she didn’t have any, the suspects allegedly began attacking her. The victim suffered many bruises and a major cut to her arm after the male suspect struck her with a brick during the incident. After the assault, the assailants took money from the victim and fled the scene on foot, as stated by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The official St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department report noted that emergency services responded to the incident and transported the woman to a local hospital for treatment. The report also indicated that District 6 is actively conducting an ongoing investigation regarding the crime.
