There's a chill in the air, which can only mean one thing in the city of Surprise – it's time for the Monster Bash and Pumpkin Patch. Countryside Recreation Center is gearing up to host this family-friendly event, filled with fall festivities and frightful fun. According to the City of Surprise, residents can get into the Halloween spirit on October 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 15038 N. Parkview Pl.

For starters, you can pick the perfect pumpkin, boogie down in a dance-off, or get creative with arts and crafts. Your little scientists will dig the STEM activities on hand, while the entire fam can chow down on yummy snacks. Don’t forget the costume contest, where you can strut your spooky stuff in categories such as scariest, funniest, cutest, most creative, and best family-themed. "Pre-registration is encouraged, and space is limited, so register early," says the City's news release. The crash course in amusement is priced at $5 for Surprise residents and $7 for non-residents. There's no charge for the kiddos aged two and under.
