A man has been arrested in connection to a Labor Day shooting that erupted outside of an Antioch nightclub, leaving five injured. The incident took place at Sky Bar Lounge where, according to WKRN, Dashawn Davenport, aged 31, was identified via surveillance footage as the driver and sole occupant of a vehicle from which gunfire was directed toward patrons.
Law enforcement discovered multiple shell casings—eight .40 caliber and three 9mm—along the trajectory of the Jeep as the suspect fired shots. The shooting resulted not only in physical harm to five individuals but also damage to nearby vehicles. A woman’s rental car was caught in the line of fire as she drove home; bullets hit her driver's side backseat window and grazed the front passenger seat headrest, reports WKRN. Davenport is facing charges that include multiple counts of attempted homicide.
NewsChannel5 states that officials reported numerous bystanders were in imminent danger during the shooting, and Davenport has since been charged with additional counts of reckless endangerment. His history with law enforcement includes an arrest in April 2023 where he faced charges of felony weapon possession, evading arrest, and drug possession.
Regarding Davenport's prior convictions, WSMV shared that he had illegal drug and gun possession records. In May 2024, after his misdemeanor evading arrest conviction, he was granted a probated sentence. This recent apprehension is connected to the shooting which transpired as patrons were leaving the lounge following a music performance, a statement confirmed by authorities.
