
The Metropolitan Police Department has reported an arrest in connection with a robbery that occurred in late June in the Southeast quadrant of the city. The incident, which unfolded on the 2600 block of Bowen Road, Southeast involved two individuals who demanded and subsequently stole property from the victim at gunpoint before fleeing the scene.
According to the official release obtained by MPDC, it was on Friday, June 28, 2024, around 7:05 p.m., when the victim encountered the two assailants. During investigation efforts, detectives identified 19-year-old Mekhi Mimiko of Northeast, DC as one of the suspects involved in the armed robbery. Mimiko's arrest took place on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, when he was charged with Armed Robbery (Gun).
The Police Department urges the community to continue providing any pertinent details that may assist with the case, which remains under active investigation. They offer up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for crimes within the District of Columbia.
