An ongoing investigation into a recent Hollywood gas station stabbing has been made. Hollywood Police confirmed the apprehension of 42-year-old Chason Williams, who now faces an attempted first-degree murder charge, according to CBS News.
The incident occurred near a Chevron station at 1600 S. Federal Hwy early on September 12, where a woman was discovered with severe stab wounds. Detectives were able to tag Williams on surveillance footage, which led to his arrest. He is being held without bond. The woman, fortunately, is on her way to recovery after being released from the hospital.
Before the arrest, details of the stabbing and the identity of the assailant were murky. A local motel employee, Bryan Adams, shared a concerning interaction with a man who was later linked to the attack by his description during an interview with Hoodline. "I had a gentleman come to the window with a lady behind him, young Spanish girl, and she didn't speak English, so what he was doing, he was just acting really suspicious," Adams said. "Looking around, wouldn't make eye contact, but trying to act as a translator for her." Adams initially encountered the suspect and the victim early that morning at the motel across from the Chevron station. On making the connection between his encounter and the stabbing, Adams recounted, "As soon as they told me the clothes that he was wearing, the light-bulb popped, black shirt, blue pants." Additional scenes from the crime showed a car with an "Uber" sign being towed from the area, though its relation to either the suspect or the victim remains unclear.
The police have arrested the suspected individual, but details about the motive and circumstances remain unclear. Authorities have not yet released additional information about the events leading to the attack. Citizens are advised to follow local reports for updates.
