Woman Hospitalized After Stabbing Near Hollywood Gas Station as Suspect Remains At LargeSource: Google Street View

Early Thursday morning, a woman was taken to the hospital after being found with stab wounds near a Hollywood gas station. According to CBS News, the Hollywood Police responded to the incident near the 1600 block of Federal Highway at approximately 3:45 a.m. where police say she was given immediate assistance.

According to the Miami Herald, the situation unfolded at a Chevron gas station. Details surrounding the woman's condition or the events that led to the stabbing were not known immediately.

Working at the time, Bryan Adams, an employee at a nearby motel across the street, claimed he had interaction with the suspect earlier that morning. WSVN reported that Adams had encountered a man acting suspiciously, accompanied by a young Spanish-speaking woman, before the stabbing. He remarked, "I had a gentleman come to the window with a lady behind him, young Spanish girl, and she didn't speak English, so what he was doing, he was just acting really suspicious. Looking around, wouldn't make eye contact, but trying to act as a translator for her." Adams had the intuition to turn the pair away after quoting an inflated room price, prompting them to leave. Only after learning about the stabbing did Adams make the connection between his early encounter and the injured woman. "As soon as they told me the clothes that he was wearing, the light-bulb popped, black shirt, blue pants," Adams told reporters. A car with an "Uber" sign, which was parked across the street in a Walgreens lot and surrounded by evidence markers, was later towed away by authorities. It's still unclear if the woman was working as an Uber driver at the time of the attack or the exact ownership of the car involved.

While the exact circumstances leading up to the stabbing are still limited, Hollywood Police have confirmed that the woman is presently recovering in the hospital. The suspect in question remains at large.
