Residents of Hyle Avenue in Murfreesboro experienced a disruption yesterday afternoon when a sudden fire broke out. According to WSMV, the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD) quickly responded to the scene. Firefighters encountered thick smoke pouring from the house and fierce flames coming from the attic area.
The MFRD worked to quickly extinguish the fire, preventing what could have easily been a more devastating event. One individual was reported to be inside the home when the fire broke out but was able to safely get out. WGNS Radio reports the swift action from responders played a critical role in the fire's outcome. During the operation, Hyle Avenue had to be temporarily closed for the Fire Marshal's office to safely conduct their investigation into the incident's cause.
Local authorities have not yet released the results of the ongoing investigation into the fire's origin. The official Facebook page of MFRD shared details about the response, which included units from Ladder 1, 2, 4, Rescue 1, 4, Engine 3, 10, and Battalion Chiefs 1 and 2, alongside Safety 1 and 2, to assist with controlling the fire.
The firefighters worked to efficiently prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring properties, ensuring no further harm came to the residents of Innsbrooke subdivision. The full extent of the damage to the property and the ensuing impact on the homeowner are matters yet to be disclosed.
