Three people were injured yesterday evening after a MARTA bus crash occurred in southwest Atlanta. The accident unfolded around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Boulder Park Drive and Dollar Mill Road, where the bus, for reasons not yet clear, careened through a guardrail before coming to an abrupt halt against a tree, as reported by FOX5 Atlanta.
The impact of the crash prompted emergency services to respond to the scene, and according to a MARTA spokesperson, the status of the three passengers involved was not immediately known. MARTA spokesperson Payson Schwin provided further details to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, explaining that the bus "slipped on the wet road" during its westbound journey on Dollar Mill Road, which slices through the neighborhood south of I-20 and west of I-285, as the dusking sky gave way to the city's ember-like streetlights.
