Early Sunday morning, a shooting inside Eden Bar and Grill in Joliet, Illinois left three people injured, an incident that disrupted what should have been an ordinary night out. According to NBC Chicago, officers from the Joliet Police Department arrived at the scene at about 1:25 a.m., after receiving reports of gunfire and multiple people shot inside the establishment located at 926 Gardner Avenue.
The victims include a 29-year-old man who was shot three times in the lower body, a 31-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her right ankle, and a 25-year-old woman shot in the right leg, all of whom were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries; however it remains unclear what circumstances led to the shooting, the perpetrators of the gunfire are believed to have fired from outside, with shell casings discovered later by authorities outside the bar.
Various sources report that first responders were quick to assist, with Joliet officers providing medical assistance until paramedics reached the establishment. The wounded were transported to local hospitals, the 25-year-old woman and the 29-year-old man to Silver Cross Hospital, and the 31-year-old woman to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center, as detailed by CBS News Chicago.
