The San José Police Department recently took into custody three individuals connected to a brutal machete attack that left one man critically wounded in June. The arrests occurred after a precise operation by the local authorities. According to the San José Police Department, the incident took place on the 2600 block of Alum Rock Avenue when the suspects sought out and attacked the victim following an earlier dispute. Multiple stab wounds were inflicted, resulting in the victim being hospitalized with severe, non-life-threatening injuries.
Intensive investigative efforts by the SJPD Assaults Unit Detectives led to the identification of the alleged assailants, Juan Ramirez and Eddie Herena. Herena, a previously convicted homicide felon, was recently out of prison since 2018, and Raul Moreno. Detectives obtained arrest warrants following the investigation and later served a search warrant at Herena's Martinez residence, where he was subsequently apprehended along with the other two suspects in San José.
Post-arrest, all three men faced the severe charge of attempted murder and were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
