Two individuals have been apprehended following the Aloha shooting incident that unfolded recently, as reported by the Washington County Sheriff's Office. The investigation revealed a minimum of four participants in a violent encounter which escalated into gunfire. Among those arrested are Matteo Greene, age 21 of Portland, and a 17-year-old minor, also from Portland.
According to the police report, the incident occurred after a clash quickly escalated, becoming physical before shots were fired. Investigators, working to reconstruct the sequence of events, relied heavily on interviews and surveillance footage. It is believed that Greene and the juvenile were the ones who initially attacked two others, triggering the exchange of gunfire. Several homes in the vicinity were struck by stray bullets, with some piercing living spaces where families, including children, were present during the onslaught.
Greene sustained a leg injury during the shootout and was subsequently arrested after receiving medical attention. The charges against Greene include attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree, and unlawful use of a weapon, on top of a probation violation. Meanwhile, the juvenile was taken at the scene and now resides in the custody of the Washington County Juvenile Department, facing similar charges of attempted murder in the second degree and assault in the first degree.
One individual, found outside the immediate circle of the accused and the primary confrontation, suffered a gut-shot and is currently battling critical injuries in the hospital. Fortunately, despite bullets piercing through residential areas, no one within the homes was harmed. The community is left to slowly recover from the trauma unwittingly visited upon them, and questions are beginning already to surface as to how an altercation could so swiftly escalate into a near-tragedy for innocent bystanders.
