Two men suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash off Route 3 in Plymouth on Sunday night, according to fire department officials. Firefighters discovered the vehicle, which had veered off the southbound lanes and become lodged in the trees, after responding to a distress call just after 8 p.m., as reported by Boston 25 News. The driver, trapped inside the mangled car, required a 20-minute extraction using hydraulic tools.
The Plymouth Fire Department conducted an intensive extraction process, leading to the driver being airlifted to a Rhode Island hospital via an ambulance that landed at Elmer E. Raymond Jr. Memorial Park, according to MassLive. Meanwhile, the passenger was taken to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. The identities of the injured men have not been released, as investigations by state and local police are still underway.
