The charges against Mitchell and Andebran include one count of felony theft from an elderly individual and an additional count of felony grand theft of personal property, with the items in question exceeding $950, according to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.

DA Pamela Price voiced her stance on crimes against seniors, Alameda County District Attorney's Office, stating, "Taking advantage of the elderly will not be tolerated here in Alameda County." She continued, "My office will hold those who prey on seniors accountable. No one, regardless of age, should have to worry about being a victim of having their purse stolen while shopping in this community." 

Brianna Mitchell and Seghen Andebran are scheduled for arraignment on October 11 at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse in Oakland.
