Two individuals are in custody following a theft incident at the Hillsdale Shopping Center's Macy's in San Mateo. Yesterday, Jorfran Hernandez-Refino, 20, and Kedwin Nabmens-Blanco, 23, allegedly left the store with over $1,000 in stolen clothing.
Loss Prevention Agents alerted local authorities and confronted the suspects upon their exit. One suspect reportedly struck an agent before an attempt to flee. However, no injuries were sustained during the altercation. According to the San Mateo Police Department, all items have been recovered and returned to the retail establishment.
Hernandez-Refino and Nabmens-Blanco are facing several charges, which include robbery, organized retail theft, and conspiracy to commit a crime. The suspects, both residents of San Francisco, have been booked into San Mateo County Jail following their arrest.
