Two individuals were arrested after a shooting that left a 19-year-old man injured on N. Grand. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the victim said he was driving when he collided with a silver SUV on Saturday, just after 6:00 p.m.
The young man, after being shot, was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The incident began when both parties involved in the accident pulled to the side of the road. The victim approached the SUV, and a man sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle discharged a firearm, striking him. This event took place in the 2400 block of N. Grand, setting off a search for the suspects and their vehicle, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Later in the evening, around 9:45 p.m., officers from the Mobile Reserve unit found the silver SUV in The Ville neighborhood. During the stop in the 4000 block of St. Louis, a 57-year-old man was found in the front passenger seat, where the shots were reportedly fired. Law enforcement also discovered a gun near his seat, as stated by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The driver, a 46-year-old woman, was also arrested after being found in possession of suspected narcotics. The two individuals were taken into custody without further incidents, and the weapon was collected. The names of those involved have not been released as of this report. Charges are pending as the investigation continues, and the police department encourages anyone with additional information to come forward.
