
Early Monday morning in New Orleans saw two separate shootings that have left two women hospitalized. As per the New Orleans Police Department, the first incident occurred at approximately 1:01 a.m. in the neighborhood of Algiers, specifically in the 3200 block of Rue Parc Fontaine. As reported by WWLTV, the woman involved was transported to the hospital. However, her current condition has not been disclosed.
Not four hours later, the NOPD were called to quickly respond to another incident. This shooting occurred in the Tremé area near the intersection of North Johnson Street and Esplanade Avenue around 4:24 a.m. The second woman wounded in this incident was also taken to a hospital for her injuries. Her condition remains undisclosed, as stated by a WGNO news article.
The Algiers shooting's details are sparse, and the NOPD has not released information regarding any suspects or a motive for the attack. Similarly, the shooting in Tremé is also currently under investigation, with details on the circumstances leading up to the incident still unclear. For both cases, the NOPD continues to scour the scenes for evidence and is seeking information that could lead to the apprehension of the individuals responsible.
