On Tuesday night, at around 10:43 PM, first responders rushed to Vaca Valley Parkway and the I-505 overcrossing after reports emerged of a person discovered injured and unconscious at the roadside. The victim, a 25-year-old local, now battles for life in critical condition at a nearby hospital, having borne the brunt of a collision with a vehicle, the Vacaville Police Department revealed on their social media.
Vacaville officers quickly responded to the scene, and within 10 minutes, they followed a trail of evidence two miles west to the dead end of Rice Lane. There, investigators found a damaged Honda sedan and, nearby, the alleged driver, 21-year-old Nathaniel James. James was suspected of driving under the influence and fleeing the scene after a tragic collision with a pedestrian. He was subsequently arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on multiple serious charges, according to the Vacaville Police Department.
Accusations under 23153(a) CVC - Felony DUI and 20001(a) CVC - Felony Hit & Run now encircle James, who remains under the purview of the law as the Traffic Unit specialists from the Vacaville Police Department delve deeper.
