Despite the unforeseen closure during a peak holiday weekend, the establishment shared through social media that no injuries were sustained and their building remained unscathed.
According to a statement obtained by KVUE, owners Hristos and Roxie Nikolakos faced the daunting task of notifying nearly 2,000 patrons of the cancellation this Labor Day weekend, however the swift response of an employee who doused the initial flames, and the subsequent intervention of firefighters, prevented what could have been a more calamitous event. Amidst the chaos, an electrician's revelation regarding the lack of a crucial $10 component needed for repairs—compounded by the holiday closure of supply stores—further prolonged their plight, Hristos and Roxie Nikolakos's resilience shone, funneling gratitude towards the outpouring of support from the community that has been a constant since their eatery's inception last summer.
The fire, which necessitated cutting open part of the restaurant's roof to be extinguished, also prompted the disposal of $25,000 worth of food due to lack of refrigeration, Hristos Nikolakos recounted.
