Mayor Michael Caldwell announced the near completion of a new parking deck that is sure to lighten the load for drivers. Set to top off by September 16, courtesy of Winter Construction, and with full completion by December's end, this structure is prepped to ease the downtown traffic when doors open in the new year's first quarter.
In a statement obtained by the city's official news update, Caldwell revealed, "We've been listening to your feedback and working tirelessly to address the need for more parking downtown." The final product boasts a free parking policy for 633 additional cars—a decision driven by the council's aim to enhance accessibility for both locals and tourists.
The addition of this parking infrastructure aims directly at growing Woodstock's downtown. The goal is attract more visitors and supporting current and upcoming businesses.
